In 1840s, after they had obtained permission to live in rural area, some Jewish families moved their business to Starye Doroghi. As far as there were no Jewish community or considerable resident Jewish population in Starye Doroghi, there were no special Jewish objects there.
Traditional activities of local population were agriculture and chopping of wood. During Russian principality the authorities did a lot to develop the region because of military and fiscal reasons mostly. First of all, old communications were reconstructed there:

In XIX, because of development of the All-Russian Market, new types of communications appeared in the area in 1873.

| - old Bobruisk - Slutsk road was transformed into highway (1880s). |
Construction of the railroad and highways provoked new increase of development of local settlements. As far as Starye Doroghi was the last station of Osipovichi - Starye Doroghi appendix, general business and Jewish activity gradually moved to Starye Doroghi.
In 1888 there were 23 wooden houses in Starye Doroghi.
By 1900 annual turnover of Starye Doroghi rail station was 80 000 tons of wood.

In 1909 there were 99 wooden houses in Starye Doroghi.
In the end XX - beg. XX century in Starye Doroghi there was a post office.
Closest synagogue and doctor were in Slutsk (45 km), closest Orthodox
church - in Novye Doroghi.
