Old Jewish Cemetery

The Kalush cemetery is located down an unlikely modern boulevard, just off of the main road going into town, amidst several modern looking apartment buildings. Compared to the other cemeteries that I saw on my trip, this one bore the evidence of some care. It seemed obvious that the Jewish cemetery is not visited by local town residents, but that there is a society that has done a great deal to restore a sense of dignity to the plot. It is a lonely sense of dignity, as the people who live and work nearby seem strangely oblivious to its existance.
