Letters from Lida - 35

Translated by Lena Gorina-Black

Dear Olenka!

You can congratulate me because I am free already. I spent 5-6 days with the company and then was sent to the hospital. I stayed there for 4 days and after that was commissioned <discharged>. They sent me back to the company where I had to wait for the papers. Before Passover all Jews had leave until 10 pm. After Seder I took my temperature and it was 38.5 <101.3F> I, of course, stayed home for the night. SO the next day a soldier with a gun came, and despite that I was in bed with a temperature of 39 <102.2>, took me back to the company. But over there they took my uniform and let me go. After that I spent 3 days in bed. Now I am well. Also, I received the papers <discharge documents?>.

I will write you more details in the next letter.

I wish you that you would have also such pleasant news.

Be healthy.

Meischl.
