In 1928,Subotniki was designated as a miasteczko (small city) and gmina wiejska (parish village), seat of council office for the surrounding villages, in the first uchastok, Lida powiat, Nowogrodskie voevodstvo of Poland. The Justice of the Peace was in Iwje and the Justice Court in Wilno. The 1928 miasteczko population was 542. The railway station was ten kilometers away in Juraciszki. The post office and telephone were in Juraciszki and telegraph in Iwje k. Lidy. Subotniki had one Catholic church, an infectious disease hospital, and mills.
