This photograph, a newspaper clipping, was kindly donated by David Saperstein, who inherited it from his grandfather.  There  is no source or date on the clipping, but it must date from after 1945 and before 1958.  Anyone who can assist in identifying the source of this clipping, so we may obtain permission to post it, please contact Irene Newhouse.


 

The original caption reads:  "The small remnant of the Jewish population of Stucin, Province  of Vilna, shown at the grave of their kindred and friends. Hitler's Germans  murdered 2,060 Jewish men, women, and children in that town on  May 9, 1942. the picture (above) was received recently by Mr. Benjamin  Scupsky, a native of Stucin, residing at [deleted] Grand Street, New York  City. Nearly all of Mr. Scupsky's folks in his native town perished at the hands of the Nazis. Among the other victims were relatives of Charles and  Jean Jaffe, New York journalists".
