For information on researching microfilmed records, see http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/Lodz/LDS.htm.
There is currently an ongoing JRI-Poland
Shtetl CO-OP Initiative for Piotrkow Trybunalski. Contact Shtetl CO-OP
Leader Marla Waltman Daschko
for further information. Many indices to 19th century Piotrkow Trybunalski
Jewish vital records are currently in the JRI-Poland
searchable database.
The JRI-Poland
Polish State Archives (PSA) Project is an ongoing project to obtain
indices to late nineteenth-century Jewish vital records not microfilmed by the
LDS. This involves the years 1889 and later for Piotrkow Trybunalski. For
further information about this project, contact Piotrkow Trybunalski PSA Town Leader
Shirley Rotbein Flaum .
Updates to this project may be viewed at JRI-Poland
Polish State Archives Project Status page (click "Piotrkow
Trybunalski" in the drop-down menu).
Tenant registers are lists of permanent residents registered in
a particular town, and are similar to census records. Tenant registers for the
town of Piotrkow Trybunalski for the years approximately 1872 to 1931 are housed
in the Piotrkow Branch of the Polish State Archives. The best way to research
tenant registers is by hiring a professional researcher to visit the archives in
person.
