Her grandfather Alexander SPERLING moved from Plonsk and Poland during the WWI and arrived to USA in 1920. His father was from Germany and died in the Shoáh. Phyllis’s father and a brother were the fist from their family to moved from Germany. They were 10 sisters and brothers, and all moved to USA, England, France and Israel, but the grandmother with two daughters and their husbands and children perished in the Shoáh.

Phyllis told Ana Nuta that in 2007 she went with her husband to Israel to a family meeting, from all the family who were alive and their descendant and they were 60 persons. It was a very happy meeting.

Her great grandparents Avraham Levi SHEINBAUM and Dinah SHEINBAUM (nee Silber) moved to London, England, about 1880s and their children were all born in London. FAMILY KOHN- SHMULEVITZ: This information was sent to AnaNuta by his descendant Asher S. SZMULEWICZ. His grandfather, from mother side was Fisher Mayer KOHN who was born in Plonsk in 1848 and died in Warszawa Ghetto in Febr.29, 1942. Fisher Meyer moved from Plonsk to Warsaw. He knows it because his mother recived a letter from Fisher's mother who said as they lived Warszawa Ghetto in Dec.1939 and moved to Bialistok, and then to the URSS. His grandmother was from Plonsk: Etla KOHN (nee KELNER) Asher parents moved to France after the WWII, they met there and got married. In Yad Vashem Ana Nuta found: SHMULEVITZ METAL, Herman, was born in Plonsk to Shmuel Yaacov and Rakhel. He was in the Ghetto of Plonsk and then was taken to Auschwitz where he was murdered in 1942. The testimony was given by Shmuel GLANTZ in 1999.

FAMILY SIMONS- KUTCHAK: This information was sent to Ana Nuta by their descendant Phillip and Linda Simons. His great grandmother Perl SIMONS was born in Plonsk, moved to USA, and died in Chicago in 1928. His grandfather Shimon KUTCHAK immigrated to the USA, from Plonsk, in 1910 and changed his name and surname to Phillip SIMONS. He married Ida and they had children: His father Sidney SIMONS and two older brothers: Harry SIMONS and Louis SIMONS, and a sister Esther SIMONS. Sidney SIMONS married his mother who died in 2000, and Sidney is still alive and had 84 years old. Phillip SIMONS was his son and the person with whom Ana Nuta made contact and sent her this information and a few pictures.

FAMILY SOTTENBERG or SOTENBERG: The information was known by Ana Nuta because she knew this family when she was born, Leon (Lebl) Sotenberg and his wife Raquel (Rejl) Gric who were born in Plonsk, were the god parents in the wedding of her parents; and the rest from Yad Vashem.

Matatiau SOTENBERG, was born in Plonsk and married Liba ZALTZER and died in the Shoah. The testimony was given by his granddaughter Feiga Ester Kaliski in 2005 at Yad Vashem and she lived in USA.

They moved to California, USA where she lives. The children are: Laura SLIPAK who was born in 1948 more or less. Marcelo SLIPAK who was born two or three years later. Carlos (Akiba) SOTENBERG who married Martha and they moved to Israel where they live. When Felisa and Gregorio SHURMAN moved to Israel. Leib and Rejl SOTENBERG moved too and died there. Their eldest daughter Felisa SHURMAN died in Israel.

Ana Nuta remembers that Leib SOTENBERG had a brother in Buenos Aires but she doesn't know as he moved, place unknown, or what happened to him and his family. Ana Nuta's parents Maier Nuta and Faiga Nuta (nee Izraelowicz) were very good friends of Leib and Rejl SOTENBERG and they worked in Plonsker Farein together in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

FAMILY ZACHAREK- SZNIZER: This information was sent to Ana Nuta by their descendant Sharon ZANE. Her grandparents were Haskel ZEGELBAUM and Annie ZACHAREK who were born in Plonsk and moved to USA. Her Great Grandparents Moshé ZACHAREK was born and lived in Plonsk, had two wives, the second of whom, Rochel ZNIZER, was her great grandmother and the mother from Annie ZACHAREK who came to the USA in 1905. She moved to the United States with her sister Fannie ZACHAREK who married a man named Harry HIBEL from the area of Plonsk. Her great grandfather Haskel ZEGELBAUM was born in the area of Lublin, but after his marriage he went to Plonsk to live there. She Told Ana Nuta she found a relative in Chicago named SAHARACK who told her he had all the genealogical tree of her family.

Lejb JACUBOWICZ SZAJMAN, his fist wife Cirla PICHESOWNA INGLA was born in 1859. They had one son, Jacob, who was born in 1865 in Sachrocin, Plonsk, after then she died. Lejb married again to Susan’s gggrandmother Malka PILA or PILOV more or less in 1969 and had two daughters : Matilda in 1870, and Mary, Susan’s ggrandmother in 1871. She named from her mother who died. After 1874, the family moved to London, England, and in 1884 they inmigrate to New York, USA.

Information was send to Ana Nuta by Phyllis Lewin Rodgers, who lives in California, USA. His mothers family was from Plonsk.
His grandfather Aleksander SZPERLING, changed the surname to SPERLIN. His mother Clare SZPERLING, one on five sisters: Manya, Tillie, Dora and Cele, left Plonsk and Poland during WWI, going first to Vienna, then to Toronto, ON, Canadá, and then to New York, USA in 1924. All the sisters change their names, only his aunt Dora is still alive and is more than 102 years old.
