In the summer of 1999 and again in the summer of
2000, Jeremy Grant, a law student from London, England visited the
town of Volochisk. Jeremy's
great-grandfather, Hershl Kalif, was from Volochisk. He left in about
1910 and went to London. Jeremy has been extremely generous in sharing
his photographs and thoughts with us.
