Harry HaftFormer Belchatower in National Jewish Sports Hall of FameHarry Haft was inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame Harry Haft was only 16 when he was sent to the concentration camps. He was forced to fight other Jews in bare knuckle bouts for the entertainment of S.S. officers. Ultimately, escaping the camp, Harry traveled to America and became a pro boxer. Harry now lives in Pembroke Pines, Florida. His story of survival and his boxing career (he fought Rocky Marciano in 1948), written by his son Alan, has been published by Syracuse University Press.
