Great Links for Botosani area and Romania

• Google Books on Botosani    This incredible research tool allows you to find books with your town name anywhere in the contents. It will often show you the exact page. In this pre-set search with the "Full View" option you can download the complete book as a PDF for free.  These are usually out of copyright or "with permission" .  Advanced Book Search allows many features including title and author searches, date range searches ,language searches, etc. If you change the parameter to "Limted preview" you will find many more books. You can usually still read some of it online but will be given the opportuntites to purchase the book.

Travel 

          Train route from Cracow, Poland  to Czernowitz and Botosani.   Read an original image of the 1891 Baedeker Handbook for Travelers (pps 400-403)
In 1891 the Express train from Czernowitz to Bucharest completed the 331 miles in 16 hours. In 2007 this has only been improved to 14 hours.
