Town Diagram - Vilnius Archives (1853) - Bottom Portion
"The 1853 plan of the state village of Kvietniai and parsonage of Gargzdai
which are situated among the lands of Mr. Baron Renne"
The Diagram is evidently based on magnetic north rather than true north, a difference of about 20 degrees.
This portion of the Diagram may be compared to the 1860-1880 Karte des Deutschen Reiches in the two pictures below. In the upper picture, the overlay is opaque. In the second picture, the overlay is partially transparent to show the underlying map.
The match of the lower two parcels is very close, while the placement of the upper parcel is uncertain. Discrepancies could be due to migration of the river, the difficulty of surveying close to the river, changes in road locations, and possible inaccuracies in the German map.
Placement of the top parcel is aided by comparison with the 1921 - 1929 Karte des Deutschen Reiches, showing elevated areas:
For further comments regarding the church, and buildings at the far left of the middle parcel, see the similar Town Diagram for 1862.
