As part of our ongoing collaboration with the Krakow Archives, (branch
II), we have now obtained a list of almost 2,500 names of Polish Jews from a register in Krakow. The registration was probably done
sometime during the year 1941 or 1942. The data comprises 2 parts...
The genealogic data includes:
- Surname and First Name -
- Names of Parents - This often includes the mother's maiden name. Where the father's surname is omitted, it is assumed that it is the same as the prime
individual's surname.
- Date of Birth - Usually the actual date, sometimes the age in years.
- Place of Birth - Usually Krakow and surrounding towns, but many other Polish towns also found.
- Address in Krakow -
- Occupation -
There is also some non-genealogic information dealing with conversions. Since it is of a sensitive nature, it has been decided
not to make this additional data available on a public forum. However, those wishing to obtain copies of the original document - and hence ALL of the information - should E-mail the Krakow
