Kling-Gordon Family

Chaya-Riva Kling Gordon (daughter of Shlioma ben Mendel Kling), Yehuda Gordon, and their son Alter Gordon, taken in 1902 in Kupishok.

Note the tropical backdrop provided by the photo studio.

The Gordons had two other children, Leibe Gordon who married Abraham Meller from Pandelys and went to Paarl, South Africa, in about 1903-04, and Sheina-Rochel Gordon who was brought out to South Africa by her sister. Sheina-Rochel is the grandmother of Solly Radowsky.

Another relative, Getzel Kling, the brother of Chaya-Riva Kling Gordon, came out to Wellington, South Africa, with his wife Leah-Rocha, and raised a large family there.  The Kling family originally came to Kupishok from Vabalninkas, a nearby shtetl, in 1880.
