Grohotisu Mountains summits and passes of the mountains surround Brebu,
one of four communes situated in the Doftana area between Doftana and Telejan.
The area, boasts a variety of mixed forest trees and mountain wildflowers,
combines a rich history and natural beauty that attracted many famous artists.
Four villages form the Commune of Brebu: Brebu Megiesesc, Brebu Mãnãstirei
(the most populated), Pietriceaua (least populated), and Podul Cheii. 8,060
Brebu inhabitants live in 2,800 houses with a population density of 1.36
inhabitants per "hectare." The local town hall houses the commune administration,
the police station, and the library. The village hospital has two doctors,
one dentist, and three nurses. The town also has a Vet, a nursery school,
two schools, a timber mill, a furniture factory, three restaurants, auto
service, two barbers and a hairdresser, three mills, three bakers, many
private shops, and two discos. Their cable TV offers TVR1, TVR2, ANTENA1,
PRO-TV, PRIMA-TV, 7ABC, ACASA, EUROSPORT, TNT & TOONS, DISCOVERY, ANIMAL
PLANET, M6, RAI UNO, and PRO7.
