On the second
row, we see, behind the woman with the child on her knees, a tall woman with
blond hair whose name was Veronika Lipinskaite. Next to her, at the right, we
see Malke Klovanskaite ( the Jewish survivor of the so called Black Day from
Rozalimas in August 1941, encircled). The third woman right from Malke , looking to the
left ( blond hair) was Adele Minikaviciute. The other woman looking to the
left( below Adele and with the dark hair ) was Alma Bukauskiene. These two
women were friends of Malke. The woman with the braid, blond hair, next to
Malke at the right was: Onute Cepkeviciute.
The story told in
Rozalimas is, that after the war Malke had had made a coat, in the colour
Burgundy, by a tailor in Rozalimas whose name was
Zakarauskaite. Malke was
very fond of this coat. ( By then, she lived already in Panevezys).
Therefore her friend Elegija Vitkute Golubova- Pusvaskiene appreciated it
from the bottom of her heart when Malke lent her the beautiful
“burgundy-coat” for her wedding day. Malke helped Elegija also by choosing
the wedding dress (a red one with black leaves). Elegija lived with
Malke in
the same apartment in Panevezys. |
