Birth Record from the AGAD Archives


The following record, from the Archiwum Glowne Akt Dawnych (The Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw) shows the birth of twins Henie and Pesie Winz.  They are listed under their mother's maiden name, as was the custom in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, although Zalman Mandel was listed as their father.  Pesie, later Pauline in the United States, is the grandmother of your webmaster Linda Cantor.
