Kolel Galicia
The Kolel Galicia in Jerusalem was established many years ago (when?) and was supported by donations from the Jews in Galicia. In each little town and shtetl many Jewish families kept green donation boxes. A few times a year a local representative would collect the donations, carefully registering what each family donated. The money and the lists were then sent to Jerusalem where receipts were issued and returned to Galicia. Once a year before Rosh Hashanah Jewish calenders LUCHOT were sent to the donors in Galicia.
Occassionally Etrogim and other ritual objects were sent there, too.
In Mea Shearim in the Kolel Galicia, now called Kolel Chibat Yerushalayim, some of the original donors' lists are kept in two metal filing cabinets. These lists are written in Yiddish. The Lubaczow lists I have found there are from the years 1929 and 1932.
