Comments: | Known by the name "Rubalov", for being a money (Ruble coins) changer. Died at the approximate age of 38. Came to Odessa with his father when he was 7 years old, and when he grew up became one of the city leaders and founded the first hospital in Odessa near the novikov bridge in Patse street, and there he built a bath house and a Mikve. He was respected by the minister Dirishelei, and when the thing plague happened, god forbid, in 1812, he looked after the patients and refused to receive from the minister money or other gestures, his father and his wife (it is not known if it was Rubalov's mother or step mother) went to Eretz Israel on a vessel, and they both got sea sickness and died on the vessel and their bodies were thrown into the sea. |
