The
following lists include names of Jewish individuals or families from Mazheik who
were brutally murdered by the Nazis, or their Lithuanian collaborators, in the
course of the Holocaust, or fell in action during World-War II.
The
first list was
compiled from the following private sources (the codes refer to the “source”
column in the table):
The
second list was
compiled from Pages of Testimony (PoT) from the Yad Va’Shem Organization. This
list includes names of Holocaust victims who lived in Mazheik before and/or
during WWII and/or died in Mazheik during the course of the Holocaust.
The list includes links to the appropriate Page of Testimony for each victim. Please note that in some cases there may be more than one PoT record for the same victim, originating from one or more sources. These records have been kept separate and have not been merged. The spelling of the name of the same person sometimes varies.
The
details were submitted by relatives, friends or former residents of Mazheik.
Names of PoT submitters are usually included at the linked Pages of Testimony,
as well as additional information e.g. names of parents, spouse, children,
occupation, date and place of birth etc.

information from over 60 years ago. Being unable to verify the accuracy or
completeness of this lists and details, we apologize in advance for possible
inaccuracies and/or incompleteness in the list, including names that were
mistakenly spelled, included or omitted, or any other inaccurate details. Any
corrections will be accepted with gratitude.

Va’Shem organization.
