These photographs were taken by a Ukranian student, Roman Zakharii. He visited many cities in the Ukraine and took photographs of buildings, cemeteries and people.
Roman wrote: I photographed ALL the remaining tombstones with any visible Hebrew / Polish inscriptions at Rohatyn Jewish Cemetery and place of executions of Rohatyn Jewry outside of the city as well as a great number of historical monuments in the city. The photo material is unique and can be published as an album.....Also of Ivano-Frankivsk city, neighbouring village of Voynilov and its Jewish cemetery, Brody and its Jewish Cemetery, all Jewish tombstones from Berezhany, a great number from Pidhaytsi (Podhajce) town 30 km south east from Rohatyn, from Kolomea (Kolomyya) and so on.
I hope you enjoy them. With time we can get all the other Rohatyn photographs printed out and published. We are in the process of creating Brody,Berezhany, Podhajce and Kolomyya pages. The Matzevot on the left is dated 9 Adar the year 5652 [8 March 1892] . It reads:the child Yitzchak Elimelech, Son of the learned of rabbinic family our teacher Yehoshua may his light shine
May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life
The Matzevot on the right says:
Our teacher Yosef son of ??
The righteous our teacher rav Yaakov ABD [head of the rabbinical court] of the Holy Community Halicz of blessed memory of the righteous
May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life
The Tombstone on the left says:

The stone fragment above right has only these few legible words: Mordechai...Sukot 5455 [Sept.-Oct 1694]...May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life
The Matzevot on the left says: "Yaakov Shimon son of The late Rabbi our teacher, Yosef of blessed memory; May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life"
The gravestone on the right is missing the top portion.
The holy flock ??
A loyal shepherd...loved the people of Israel wise and Godlike
A leader in the house of the Zohar [? perhaps it means that the man was a scholar of the Cabbala]
a man that the hidden Is open to him
our teacher the Rav R’Yosef his memory be blessed in the life of the coming world
The son of the honored ?? Godlike our Rav ?? ?? of blessed memory of the righteous
The last tombstone reads:
Here is buried...R'Moshe Reuven son of R’Shlomo the Levite [this line is on the arch on top of the stone]
16 Adar 5694 [3 March 1934]
The entire family weeps bitterly...And all the relatives will raise their voices...On the death of a dear and respected man
Of a family of aristocrats [meaning a very respected family, lit. a family of the Tribe of Efraim], on his being taken
From this world before his time...And after suffering from bad illnesses...And his holy soul ascended to Heaven
And he died with a good name
May his soul be bound in the bond of everlasting life
